There is a phenomenon called the 'oppressed daughter syndrome'. It is a real syndrome and is not only that which has a spiritual dimension, but is demonic in nature. It is therefore an important issue to address from a Christian perspective, as is the case with all kinds of oppression. The  'oppressed daughter syndrome' manifests in all kinds of symptoms, such as shyness, a lack of healthy self-respect, lack of confidence, forced career choices, rushed marriages, marital distress, especially loveless marriage, and hyper-conservativism and hyper-traditionalism, and lack of an ability to reach one's full God-given potential, and hence destiny in accordance to the Will of God, which is to know God and glory Him in all one does. There are many young Christians in the modern Church today who are marrying young, just to engage in sexual intercourse. That is in an of itself problematic, and anyone who does that has something wrong with him or her in and of himself or herself. Such people need to repent of their lusts, and very desire to misuse and pervert the God-given gift of sex! Sexual desire where it is given by God is not wrong or a sin. It can indeed be good where it is desired to be used to glorify God, uncorrupted by sin. For example, it can be good where in desiring marriage and therefore family, so that one may be sanctified by God (1 Corinthians 7:12-16), live out God-given designs for man and woman (Ephesians 5:22-33), to learn to love and sacrifice one's own interests (John 13:34-35), and to learn to forgive others (Ephesians 4:32; Colossians 3:13). The Australian Christian Lobby sought to wage a campaign against Volley Australia for their pornographic advertisement to express disappointment. So, I decided to write a letter to Volley to express love to them by witnessing to them. Many people in who were raised up in the west have heard of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Even many people in Generation Y, the current generation of youth have heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and have been to a church in the past. Many Christians think that if a person is under the spirit of mammon, it only means that they are greedy or materialistic. This is a very serious misunderstanding and it indicates that the person who thinks this is under the spirit of mammon themselves - because they cannot see the spirit of mammon. Greed and materialism are only mere manifestations of the spirit of mammon. They are only the fruit of the bitterly deceptive root of the spirit of mammon, not the other way round.
