The very term 'patriarchy' evokes all kinds of negative feelings in modern society. For many in modern western society, particularly women, it is the most evil and worst dystopian nightmare possible. For others, it is seen as outdated and antiquated, but nevertheless viewed unfavourably. Yet for some acculturated in western culture, it is simply foreign but evoked not strong emotions. Either way, there is no concept of patriarchy in modern western society, and increasingly westernised countries all over the world. By contrast, patriarchy is seen as the norm in many cultures and societies, all over the world, including those that are successful in their own right. One striking observation to be made is that all successful civilisations are patriarchal, be it Greek, Roman, Chinese, Babylonian or Egyptian. Many in the modern Church think that fighting evil is a righteous thing to do. This is only a half-truth, and a very very dangerous one. It is not that the unsaved do not seek to fight evil - they do, and often with a great passion, and devote their whole life to doing so. Take example, Joan Kirner, former Premier of the state of Victoria, Australia who passed away yesterday at the time of writing. She is described as one who 'hated injustice'. Liberalism is of the spirit of independence. Human nature thrives on independence which puffs up the flesh, making it "self-sufficient". No one seeks after God (Romans 3:11). That is exactly what independence is. It hates God for God made us to be dependent on Him and trusting in Him. Rather, the evil human flesh is proud, thinking that is need not God, and need not trust God. The spirit of liberalism not only loves independence which is rebellion, but hates those who do not love independence from God. Many in the modern church are so uninformed, unaware and naive about what liberalism truly is. Some even claim to be supporters of liberalism in certain cases, for example regarding economics, thinking that "liberal"' economics (if such a distinction in economics is even needed) is more generous and caring towards the poor.  Some Christians even think that liberalism can be somewhat compatible with Christianity when liberalism is applied in  a certain way. This misses the real point of what the real issue is.  The real issue is the spirit of liberalism that works through people, feeding on the carnal desires and the flesh of the masses, and seeking to enforce this ethic onto all individuals. Secular humanism, whether politically, culturally or socially 'liberal' or 'conservative, is liberalism is the spiritual sense. This explains why there are unsaved people who are happy to embrace political, cultural or social conservativism - because it is not of God. Liberalism is perhaps the most deceptive and evil ideologies of all the evil ideologies in the world. It is the evil of all evils. This is by no means a statement of hatred against people who embrace of hold onto liberalism. Rather, it is an exposition of the evil demonic spirit behind it. There is a movement in the west which seeks to normalise and legitimise paedophilia. You may argue that is will not happen as so many naive Christians do, thinking that things do not change. Things do change. Just as the homosexual movement was underground for years, it sought to cast doubt on its immorality and decency, then creating a culture that tolerated it. This tolerance of homosexuality lead to one which eventually created a culture that views opposition or even the mere questioning of homosexuality as "hateful" and "bigotted". Both movements are entirely based on sexual pleasure, just as feminism was - feminists who would seek to legalise paedophilia, rape, bestiality and pornography if women were the ones were able to overpower men sexually through physical means. One modern evangelical said to me that "I think Australians think we are ... intolerant (of other religions)". Intolerance is a virtue. If a person was a paedophile, or murderer, would you tolerate him? Would you tolerate his motives? No, you surely wouldn't.  The statement that Christianity is intolerant is a utterly deceptive one. Ask the person who makes the claim, "are you being tolerant?". Ask him, should a person from a culture where paedophilia is legitimate and thinks there is nothing wrong with it be tolerated?  ​The same applies with religions and culture. There is much adoration of the family among American Christians and also Australian Christians. Many ministries such as Focus on the Family are centred around this gift from God. However, the modern church is increasing treating the family as an idol. There is no doubt that the family is a gift from God and a good thing. As such, this is all the more the reason why the family can turn into a idol, and why satan and mammon seeks to attack it. There is much fascination with the family among American and Australian Christians, in particular, the American Christians who are part of the 'conservative movement'. The family has not gone unnoticed by the unsaved, secular liberals. No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon (Matthew 6:24). This is a very important verse in the Bible, like all other verses. It is one that touches on an issue that many Christians deem to be a 'minor' issue.
