A modern evangelical accused me of "mishandling" the Bible because I speak about an evil spirit called the spirit of mammon who blinds the minds of the unsaved and the saved when they are yielding to his temptation. This is to accuse of me of being a jezebel and a heretic, which I guarantee he tells his "flock" that I do. This is not written to entertain him, or argue with him, but to expose the evil spirit.
The minds of the unbelievers the blinded by satan because of their love of darkness. Likewise, as this modern evangelical loves to say, "our" hearts are sinful including the true believer. The true Christian can and does fall into sin. To fall into sin is to fall into darkness.
It is this darkness which satan who is like a prowling lion, blinds the minds of the Christians who yield to worldly earthly things - such as buying a larger home, a better car or being anxious about children's education or anything else that is earthly.
2 Corinthians 4:1-4 says: Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
