Indictments of Annoying, Pesky, Modern Evangelicals

If you have met a modern evangelical who has a guise of being “gentle” but loves to waste your time on lecturing your about being “gentle” by following certain rules, I understand. I have met such a modern evangelical. I am not the only person within the church who has run into problems with modern evangelicals.

  1. They use the sinner’s prayers
  2. Accuse people who speak about a person being ‘under the spirit of’ to be mishandling the Bible. Claiming that one is under the spirit of something is NOT in any way to discard responsibility for sin. People choose to be under a spirit or yield to it. Ephesians 6:12 speaks about principalities and powers: “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places”. One modern evangelical accused me of such. It is probably because he can’t see what I am talking about.
  3. Accuse people of being “ungentle” because of one seeking to set the record straight about false doctrines such as the Church needing to support Israel militarily and politically.
  4.  Accept women pastors or teachers. This is unbiblical.
  5. God is happy with women pastors. I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet. For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. But women will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety (1 Timothy 2:12-15).
  6. Waste other people’s time by giving a lesson on being “gentle”. A modern evangelical wasted my time by doing that. Perhaps I should have blocked him by email. That would have been wiser.
  7. Think that the Gospel needs to be complimented with the friendship or ingenuity of man in presenting it is an unsaved person.
  8. Accuse people within the church who expose false doctrine of being “divisive” or “argumentative”.
  9. Doctrinal compromise is somewhat noble and loving.
  10. Claiming that rooting out false teachers and doctrines is wrong.
  11. One can have Jesus as Saviour but be Lord of one’s own life (i.e. spirit of mammon).
  12.  One can be friends with the world, but yet also right with God.
  13. Accuse you of being “hateful” because you even fail to tell people that you a true Christian are going to Hell when that is not the case.
  14.  Treat abortive women as “victims” when they are NOT victims but VICTIMISERS.
  15. Yelp like a dog as to how "offended" one is when one is being questioned or corrected.
  16. Accept that everyone has their own view as so should be "respected.

Two types of contentment

The world seeks contentment. It seeks to be contented in pursuit of all kinds of things, whether it be money, health, wealth, romance, sex, careers or family. It does not necessarily seek after riches to be content. However, that one does not seek after money as the first priority, but other things that are typically associated with good traditional values, such as family, does not in any way mean that one is content in the godly sense. By no means! A person can be a "conservative" and "religious" but just as earthly as the "liberal". There are two types of contentment: earthly contentment and godly contentment. Earthly contentment finds its fulfillment and satisfaction in things that are passing away, not necessarily money, but also things like family, education and children. Yes, that's right. Many professing American Christians think that they could never be under the spirit of mammon because they care for their families and love their families, a...

Signs of a Person under the spirit of mammon

Both the unsaved and saved can be under the spirit of mammon. Do not be deceived! An unsaved person can only serve mammon because it is not part of his nature to submit to God in any way (Romans 8:7). However, the Christian can most definitely yield to the temptations of mammon just as he can yield to the temptations of satan. This is what is means for a Christian to be under the spirit of mammon. The signs of a person being under the spirit of mammon are: The person does not understand the spirit of mammon. This is because he or she is blinded by it and therefore cannot see it. The person reacts whenever being confronted with being told that they are under the spirit of mammon, or being told that they may be under it. This is not the person themselves reacting, but the spirit of mammon reacting. The person is self-satisfied with the abundance that they have. This is especially the case with many Christians today. They are happy with having a family, a well-paying job, security...

The spirit of Paganism is of Degeneracy, Rebellion and Bloodlust

Paganism is the rejection and hostility towards all Christian virtues. It is not merely the unbelief in fundamental Christian theological doctrine, but the hatred of Christian virtues. This ultimately leads to the active, outright embrace of all manner of degeneracy. The scriptures describes such paganism in Romans 1:18-32:   For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts wer...
