The
abolitionist’s job is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, bringing it into
conflict with any evil, whether it be abortion, usury, surrogacy, or
homosexuality. He or she is not to fight for so-called “rights”, the belief in
“rights” being a lofty thing that raises itself against God.
2 Corinthians 10:5 says: “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself
against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the
obedience of Christ”. That is what the true abolitionist, and indeed, every
true Christian should be doing, fighting everything that lifts itself against
God. One such thing that exalts itself against God, is the doctrine of
“rights”, not those who take the doctrine of rights ‘too far’, or ‘humanise’
it, but the doctrine of “rights” itself, an unrighteous doctrine which is of
pride, arrogance and self-centredness. It is of the carnal flesh.
The doctrine
of “rights” has severely tainted the modern Church, with many in the modern
Church supporting the pro-life movement. The pro-life movement fights abortion
on the basis of “right” to life. It is exactly what the problem with the
pro-life movement is. It believes in “rights” for other humans.
One might
argue that it is because it believes in “rights” for others, not oneself that
it is righteous. No, nothing could be further from the truth. People believe in
the “rights” of others because they believe in their own. They seek to justify
their belief in their own “rights” by believing in others. Oh, how humanity
seeks to be a respecter of persons, in its own twisted, perverse wretchedness!
God is no
respecter of persons (Acts 10:34; Romans 2:11). This does not only mean that He
judges all according to the same standard though this is true. It also means
that He will accepts absolutely no provision, excuse or reason as a
justification of anything that exalts against His nature. He gives absolutely
no provision for any flesh, not even the slightest flesh. He hates it with a
fierce hostility. O, fear the Lord, my friends, fear Him and you will not dare
even think about exalting any of your carnality against Him! You will tremble
before Him and not even believe in your so-called “rights”.
God is no
respecter of persons, whether unsaved or saved. He hates absolutely all
carnality in anyone, whether saved or unsaved. Do not think for a moment that
because you are being saved by Christ that you are exempt from His hatred of the
carnality that remains in you and that you still want to feed. Don’t you dare even think that!
One may
still argue that it is because God saves a person that he or she has “rights”
that God has given him or her. Such people are ignorant that God blots out our
sins for His glory, not ours, for the Lord God Almighty says: “I, even
I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for Mine own sake, and will
not remember thy sins” (Isaiah 43:25). God takes away our sins for His sake,
not ours. God is absolutely entitled and just to leave us to die in our sins,
and burn us all in Hell forever and ever.
Salvation of
sinful souls is for God’s glory, and by no means that of any human. It is for
God and God alone. Thus, that one is
forgiven of one’s sins by God does by no means give oneself any “rights”.
Rather, it takes away one’s “rights”, if one even had any at all as an
unbeliever, for it is to surrender all of oneself to God, and give oneself up
for God, as a slave of Christ.
None of us
even deserve to exist or be born. God is the Sovereign Author of all Life, and
so He alone can determine who has life, when one lives and when one dies. No
person has a right to determine who has life, when one lives and when one dies.
If God is Sovereign, the only one has
such as right, who else does? No one. To argue otherwise, whether it be for the
‘right’ of humans to live or die is to not only usurp the Sovereignty of God.
It is to attack God Himself.
The pro-life
movement is just as humanistic as the euthanasia movement or the pro-abortion
movement. It is not righteous, but vile in the eyes of a Holy God. That it
comprises of many professing Christians does not make its vision any less vile.
He who is
truly righteous will not fight for one’s “rights” or even believe in anyone’s
rights, whether it be his own, or that of others. Instead, he will seek first
the righteousness of God and strive to please God, and not people. He will live
a life that simply seeks to obey God, and in doing so, contend with the wicked
by his very life: They that forsake the
law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them (Proverbs
28:4).
O Church,
when will you wake up to all the fleshly doctrines in your midst? When you will
start to see evil in your midst for what they are, and stop seeking to
compromise with such wickedness? When will you stop your hypocrisy in
compromising with sin while claiming to follow Christ? When will you rise up to
fight evil and proclaim righteousness?
