Many in the modern Church think that economics has nothing to do with ethics or morality. They think that ethics and morality do not apply to economics, or any other area of life they believe is 'secular', and thus should be 'separate' from the sacred. Such is the deception of the 'secular vs sacred' divide from the world which has really deceived the Church, thinking that it has no liberty to speak about ethics and morality about economics, or that such ethics and morality are irrelevant to economics.
Economics is a philosophy. It is a set of ideas, a set of doctrines. Every doctrine has a ethic and morality, whether it be good or bad. For example, there is the communist ethic, capitalist ethic, nationalist ethic, or even the liberal ethic. Each ethic has a spirit behind it which gives the ethic its power, just as sin has a power. In fact, it is because of the power of sin that each worldly ethic has a power behind it - an evil, wicked, demonic power. Such worldly doctrines come from "bitter envying and strife", manifesting in "confusion and every evil work":
The Church must attack all demonic and satanic strongholds, and cast down all arguments and all things which are against the Word of God.
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled (2 Corinthians 5:3-6).

Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work (James 3:13-16).
Every doctrine from the world, and thus of flesh is a lie which is why Romans 3:4 says "let God be true, but every man a liar". Literally ALL doctrines of the world are of bitter envying and strife as James 3:13-16 explains. Such is the human heart which is desperately wicked and deceitful above all things (Jeremiah 17:9).
That is why the world has not even a single ounce of moral authority to fight evil for it is evil itself. Only the Church has moral authority to fight evil.
Since the Church has failed to fight evil, we now live in the world we live in now: a world full of evil that is growing each day, left unrestrained by the power of Light, the power of Jesus Christ, reflect by His Bride, the Church.
