The world does love, but in a different way from the way the Christian loves, and obviously, the way God loves. The world loves only its own. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? (Matthew 5:46). It only loves those who love them, those who it counts as its own. The unsaved hate the other unsaved people who hate them. The Bible refers to the natural person, as "foolish, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another" (Titus 3:3)
Anyone who thinks the unsaved does not hate other unsaved people, that is the world that hates each other is a fool. There is so much hate in the world. Thus, it is easy to think the world only hates. No, it does love, but with a selfish self-centred, earthly, unspiritual, ungodly love which is not agape love at all. It is impure love. It is love mixed with selfish motives.
The world loves its own families, children, parents, girlfriends and boyfriends. It does love families, hence why governments have Departments of Families. Its just that is hates families, children, parents, girlfriends and boyfriends who handle relationships God's way.
