Usury is a Manifestation of Double-mindededness, and an Impurity of Heart

We the Church love to talk about purity, and how the world is disgusting, evil and vile in its impurity. Of course, the world is disgusting, evil and vile in its impurity, as evidenced by its rampant practice and approval of all kinds of sexual perversions, which is rising all the more. However, impurity of heart is need not necessarily be manifested in sexual perversion, although sexual perversion is of course impurity of heart. Impurity of heart can be manifested in all kinds of ways that one could think of. It can be manifested in even the most innocent of ways, for example, in helping the poor. A person may actually be genuinely helping the poor, but he or she may be motivated by a desire to show his or her good works, all without realising it. That is why, for example, Jesus had to say:  Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you,

"Moral Hazard" is a Fleshly, Earthly and Demonic Excuse for Usury

But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish (James 3:14-15). The world comes up with all kinds of excuses to justify sin. Many of these excuses seem very wise, sophisticated and reasonable. However, that is part of demonic deception, which deceives all those who trust in earthly, and fleshly wisdom, and trust not God. All worldly wisdom as described by James 3:14-15 is a manifestation of bitter envying and strife: But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish . One of the myriad of excuses for sin which the world thinks is totally and absolutely legitimate in justifying sin, is that of 'moral hazard'. It believes that moral hazard is a legitimate excuse for usury.  The "moral hazard" doctrine purports that a

Expecting to Receive in Return is Earthly, Fleshly and Worldly

For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them. And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again. But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil (Luke 6:32-35). The world expects to receive what it lends to people in return. It thinks it is legitimate to so expect, not because it truly upholds the righteous principle of honouring one's debts as per Psalm 37:21: The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.   The world has such an expectation out of its own self-centredness, thinking that it is entitled to what it has, and that what it has be

Usury is a Perversion of True Lending

And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again (Luke 6:34). When Jesus said " And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again" (Luke 6:34), he is referring to what the heart of the true follower of Christ should be. It is a diagnosis for what he should be. It is a command from Christ that His followers should lend freely, in the manner of spirit of giving freely and willingly which is commanded throughout the Bible: "You shall generously give to him, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give to him, because for this thing the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in all your undertakings (Deuteronomy 15:10). I will freely sacrifice unto thee: I will praise thy name, O LORD; for it is good (Psalm 54:6). Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with perf

Earthly Food that Fills the Belly is Not true Food, Only Spiritual Food is the True Food

In the meantime His disciples urged Him, saying, “Rabbi, eat.”   But He said to them, “I have food to eat of which you do not know.” Therefore the disciples said to one another, “Has anyone brought Him anything to eat?” Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.   Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!   And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.   For in this the saying is true: ‘One sows and another reaps.’   I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.” (John 4:31-38). Not only is food which merely fills the belly not eternal food, it is not true food. For once you eat it and digest it, you will be hungry again, just like how the w

Partiality Towards the Poor is Itself a Manifestation of the spirit of Mammon

It is embedded in western psyche that one should be full of sympathy towards the needy, and side them , just because they are the underdog. I call it the "underdog sympathy complex". Australia is a country with such a complex, as Australians love to side with the underdog, and love to despise those who are elite. This may seem like compassion, empathy and fairness, which is what Australians love to think of themselves to be, and think they are entitled to. However, the underdog sympathy complex is not compassion, empathy, fairness or justice. It is nothing but favouritism towards the poor and needy, from selfish fear that one will be in that position oneself. This leads to what many Christians in the west call 'socialistic' thinking.  The socialistic thinking that many in the west have towards the poor and needy is earthly thinking, as it thinks that what people ultimately need is to have the basic human needs, instead of that Jesus is not only what people need, bu

Rebellion by the Bride of Christ against Christ is the Cause of All Church Problems

The Church in the west has declined, not because of the world. For the world has always been there and hated the righteous in God's sight. It has declined because its has failed to submit to Christ, Her Husband, of our her pride, arrogance and rebellion. This has not only lead to all the problems in the modern Church in the west - it it the cause of all the church problems in the modern Church. That is why God has not used the western Church in advancing His Kingdom, but has turned to the Church in the non-western world. The modern western Church has made a fool out of herself by failing to submit to Christ, absolutely and totally, only to give the world all kinds of excuses to mock, scorn and hate her, and blaspheme God.  Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit

To Hell with Your Humanistic, Worldly Earthly Hypocritical Sympathy for the Poor and the Needy

Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour (Leviticus 19:15). It is important to help the needy and poor as the Bible commands (Leviticus 25:35; Deuteronomy 15:7, 11; Jeremiah 22:3; Matthew 5:42; Acts 20:35). Why does the Bible tell us to help the poor and the needy? Because they are those in the world who are bullied, oppressed, and hatred by the world out of its sinful, wicked, evil love of self and hatred of God.  What the Bible means by the 'needy' and 'poor' are exactly those people, those whom the world hates, mocks, scorned, despises, and looks down on out of its proud wicked, evil heart. For the needy and poor are those who do not have any worldly things, no power, money or possessions, respect, status or anything else the world esteems (See Matthew 19:16-26, Luke 12:33-34; 14:12-14).  That is the true Biblical definition

Help the Needy, and Do Not be Tainted by the World

Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world (James 1:27). The Bible tells followers of Christ to help the needy and, indeed, there are many followers of Christ who do good works to serve the needy. However, what many often to do realise is that helping the needy people of the world can taint oneself. This is because many needy people are people of the world, who do not know God. They are wicked sinners like any other wicked sinner, rich or poor, powerful or lowly, famous or unknown. Needy people can be even more mammonised than those who are rich in the earthly sense of being rich. Their heart can and is full of wickedness and vile evil (Jeremiah 17:9). This is all too easy to forget as one is thinking about their earthly plight and how less "fortunate" they may be compared to oneself.  Such thinking is a manifestation of earthliness, that feels humanist

Money itself is the Hindrance to Salvation, For the Love of Mammon Feeds on Pride, Covetousness and Idolatry

Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions. Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved? But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible (Matthew 19:21-26) Many in the modern western Church think that a person can serve both God and mammon, all without realising that that is what they believe. Just as the Israelites in the Old Testament offered God the best sacrifices to Him, and yet at the same time
