For fifteen centuries, the Church has taught that celibacy is the ideal life, based on a proper and clear understanding of Scripture. Yet, with the Protestant Reformation, this doctrine was reversed, and instead, marriage became the ideal. The idea that celibacy was ideal was scorned, and demonised, and marriage became elevated over celibacy. This idea has continued well into contemporary times where many Christians think that marriage is the ideal.  Marriage has now become the most serious concern of many if not most Christians, irrespective of 'denomination' precisely because of how the idea that celibacy is not ideal, even wrong or unnatural, while marriage is ideal has been propagated down the centuries. This minor issue has become a major issue, while major issues, such as the doctrines of the Trinity, theosis and Christian militancy have been shunned. There is a phenomenon called the 'oppressed daughter syndrome'. It is a real syndrome and is not only that which has a spiritual dimension, but is demonic in nature. It is therefore an important issue to address from a Christian perspective, as is the case with all kinds of oppression. The  'oppressed daughter syndrome' manifests in all kinds of symptoms, such as shyness, a lack of healthy self-respect, lack of confidence, forced career choices, rushed marriages, marital distress, especially loveless marriage, and hyper-conservativism and hyper-traditionalism, and lack of an ability to reach one's full God-given potential, and hence destiny in accordance to the Will of God, which is to know God and glory Him in all one does. I received a revelation earlier this evening when I was taking my evening nap on Thursday 9 May 2019. It was about narcissism and its spiritual implications. I saw a vision where there was a reddish purple soft, squeezable egg-shaped object called the 'soul' that was being wrapped around by a cord. It was not a chain, but a rope. As it was almost completely being wrapped around, the egg-shaped object which represented the soul was then crushed. It cried out, and then the hand which crushed it stopped, only to wrap in around with the cord and crush it again. This same cycle continued to happen until infinity. The Lord told me that the cord represents the constraints that the spirit of narcissism imposes on the soul, and the crushing of the soul represents what the narcissist ultimately seeks to do: to crush a person.
