The Life of Simply Trusting in God is the Blessed Life

Many people in the modern Church have the mindset that a blessed life is one which receives whatever one wants or desires. That is an extremely dangerous false teaching which has ensnared many in seeking to get what they want, leading them to do move ahead of God, or resort to illicit ways of getting what they want. It has caused many to loose faith in God in waiting on God, resulting in much frustration, leading to bitterness, which leads to unbelief. To be blessed by God is to be favoured by God. What makes a person favoured by God is whether he or she walks righteously in the sight of God. He or she does not trust in himself or herself, but acknowledges God in all his or her ways. Proverbs 3:5-6 gives great wisdom: Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.   In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. The Bible specifically exhorts us to trust in the Lord with all one's heart and not lean on one's own u...

The Perversion of Needs as Wants is the Manifestation of Self-glory, Self-worship and Pride

There is a difference between wants and needs. A want is that which one merely desires but is not needed to remain a living human being, and to serve God. A need is that which one must have to remain alive as a living human being, and therefore to serve God. Thus, whether something is a want or need is determined by reference to whether it is needed to serve God for His glory. This is because humans exist for the purpose of glorifying God, and not ourselves. We are to live for Him, and not ourselves: So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them (Genesis 1:27). Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory , I have formed him; yea, I have made him (Isaiah 43:7). Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man (Ecclesiastes 12:13).   Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast c...

To think that the Rich Christians are blessed by their Riches is itself Favouritism of the Rich

My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons. For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment; And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool: Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts? Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him? But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats ? (James 2:1-6) Many in the modern western Church think that a Christian who is rich is blessed because of his riches. He thinks that it is because of his godliness that God has given rich Christians their riches, such which are b...

The spirit of Mammon wages a War against God through Debt, taking those under him captive

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). In the midst of all theological debates about the mystery of Christ and His salvation, one thing that most forget is that we were created to serve God and enjoy Him. Instead of asking why should God save anyone, the question that should be asked what glorifies God for God created all things for His glory, and His alone : For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him ( Colossians 1:16).  The question that should be asked is what is it that glorifies God and how can one seek to glorify God, not why does He allow people to suffer, what is God like, or why should he saved anyone. He does all things for His glory, and His alone...

The False Doctrine of "Liberty" must die. To Hell with your liberty!

The modern person, whether saved or unsaved, is a very sensitive person, easily upset, pretends to be tolerant of others, but yet aggressive when others offend them personally. Many people are like that today, and it is a manifestation of a serious spiritual malaise. It is the manifestation of the human tendency of all of us to elevate ourselves, thinking we have liberty to do as we want, according to what we choose. That people do not even question the attitude of one doing as one chooses it itself an indictment on the vile, wickedness of humanity. The modern world only thinks of its liberty. It is all about liberty, to do as one chooses. In doing so, it sets up all kind of rules, yes rules, whether cultural, social, legal or political, to pursue such vile human liberty, in a legalistic manner, to satisfy the lusts of the flesh, lusts of the eyes and pride of life (1 John 2:16). Many in the modern western Church have been seduced by the doctrine of "liberty", justifying so...
