Fighting the Four Evils

Many people in the modern Church have bought into the world's doctrine of oppression. Even if they have not, they are very influenced by it, without even realising it. Such is the modern church which commits spiritual adultery by allowing itself to be guided and influenced by the world's ideas.  As such, it has been deceived into supporting victims using fleshly means. The Bible makes it clear that followers of God must correct oppression (Isaiah 1:17).  So, it is important the Christian understands what is oppression. One needs to approach this using the Wisdom of God, not fleshly, worldly doctrines and thinking. This should be extremely obvious, but yet many in the modern Church became influenced by the world, owing to a lack of discernment or the fear of people.  The Bible throughout tells people to not oppress the widow and orphan (Zechariah 7:10; Isaiah 1:17). Many people think that this is not relevant today because 'modern law' looks after women and children....

We live in a world that placed an emphasis on self-esteem and esteeming the beliefs of the individual on the grounds that everyone has a “right” to their own beliefs.  Indeed, we live in the age of postmodernism where everyone has their “personal truth” and everything that is true is deemed to be “opinion”. Everything that is the (often foolish) opinion of intellectuals is deemed to be truth with a capital T. Sadly, this spirit of liberalism has crept into the modern Church. Many Christians are very sceptical about evangelism that uses the Law to confront people of their sins because it “offends” the unsaved. They tell you that it is inappropriate to use the “method”, as known as Way of the Master because it is not the Gospel message itself that will offend the unsaved, but the “method” offends.
