"Usury in Christendom: the Mortal Sin which was and now is Not"

Why So many Can't See Why Usury is Evil

Many people just cannot understand why usury is sin, including many true Christians. They cannot understand it just like how the world does not. So, why do so many think that usury is not evil, but rather, very legitimate and even righteous? They think that is is legitimate for a person to be in debts. The only reason a person could think that that is legitimate is because he or she is under the spirit of mammon, who blinds him into thinking that it is perfectly legitimate to be in debt to others. They think that not because they are righteous in thinking one must repay one's debts, but because they want to justify their being in debt, and in doing so, justify credit and the creditors.  As such, since creditors are right in lending them money, it would follow they have a right to charge usury, an abomination to God (Ezekiel 18:13), as it was, is and will forever be an abomination to God (Malachi 3:6). Of course, there are those who think that they are entitled to be in debt,

The Bible does NOT permit divorce at all, not even for adultery. Do not try to make the exception.

Many in the modern Church think that the Bible permits divorce in cases of adultery. Anyone who says that the Bible permits absolutely no exceptions for divorce are regarded by even many true Christians as extreme, rigid, or uncaring for the person who spouse has committed adultery.  The belief that the Bible makes this exception is a very dangerous one. It is based on a misinterpretation of Matthew 5:32 which says: " That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery ." The modern translations use the word 'adultery' rather than 'fornication'. The word for adultery comes from the word 'porneia' which refers to fornication. Pastor John Piper explains:

The Oppression of Debtors by Creditors who Pervert and Twist the meaning of Debt and Credit

Debt is not only that which keeps people in bondage. Indeed, it is a tool of oppression. Oppression is that which is unrighteous and unjust: Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man [or oppressor in some translations] (Psalm 71:4). I have done judgment and justice: leave me not to mine oppressors (Psalm 119:121). It is not mere "inequality" or unfairness, that which people love to complain about out of their own envy, as people in the modern world love to claim out of their vile, evil, unrighteousness which has made them deluded and of an unsound mind. Those who do not fear God but fear anything else, whether it be fearing people, fearing lack, or fearing security will have a spirit of fear and an unsound mind. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).  He who has money can control others, not merely by his power of give money, but to claim

How the Rich have Power over others

Through the whole of human history, the rich are always those who have power to make all the decisions in the world. How do the rich become powerful? It is not the money itself that makes them powerful. It is that the world loves money and fears the rich which makes them powerful. Those who love money, by their love of money, empower the rich. This love of money which ensnares people, gives power to those who have money over those who do not, or those who have less. Indeed, the rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender (Proverbs 22:7). The same occurs in the Church, yes even the true Church which is made of true converts who still can and do succumb to the flesh. The pastors and church leaders fear offending the rich people in the Church today because they are the ones who enable pastors and church leaders to use the arm of the flesh the most. Their means of provision is that which legitimises trust in the arms of the flesh. That is why pastors and church

You deserve no good thing. To Hell with "equality" with others, to Hell with your "rights"!

All good things come from God (James 1:17). You do not deserve anything you have, whether it is "your" money that you earned, your house, your food, your water or your breath. You deserve none of it. Not only do you not deserve the house that you live in. It is not even that you deserve to have no home. It is that you deserve nothing, not even a single breath of life. You deserve to be in Hell right now. To Hell with your "rights" to whatever garbage you fight for, or think yourself entitled to! To Hell with your belief in "equality" that if someone else has something, whether by wages or that which is unearned, you are entitled to the same. You are not entitled to anything in the first place, so to Hell with "equality"! To Hell with your liberty!

Gain is not godliness like what many in the Modern Church unknowingly think

If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words , even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;   He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth , supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. But godliness with contentment is great gain (1 Timothy 6:3-6). Many in the modern Church of the west think that where they gain more material things, it is godliness unto them. They think that they live comfortable lives, in the earthly sense, and enjoy many (earthly and worldly) freedoms that the vast majority in the world do not, because of their godliness.  The most obvious evidence of such thinking in the typical modern western Christian is that the west is "blessed" with democracy, which really should be called demoncracy, and capital

Live as if you had nothing

But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none; And they that weep, as though they wept not; and they that rejoice, as though they rejoiced not; and they that buy, as though they possessed not; And they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away (1 Corinthians 7:29-31). Seeking the peace and comfort of this world is itself to be earthly. It is of the love of the world. That is why the Christian must live as if he has nothing. To enjoy the peace and comfort of the world is itself to not trust God. It is because many Christians in the west do enjoy and peace and comfort of the world that God has allowed them to have that they cannot fully serve God. They treat God's earthly provision as their "right". It is not a right. It is grace alone. To treat it as as right is vile blasphemy and the height of all pride. They are under the spirit of mammon, having th

War is an Indictment of Humanity itself

Many in the modern Church think that war is Biblical. Nothing could be more deceptive than that. War is a manifestation of the falleness of humanity. It is an indictment against proud, self-righteous humanity, which thinks itself entitled to murder people who do not make provision for its pursuits of its self-interests. War waged by humans, (not by God) is not holy in the eyes of God, for the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God (James 1:20): But the word of the LORD came to me, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou shalt not build an house unto my name, because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight (1 Chronicles 22:8). But God said unto me, Thou shalt not build an house for my name, because thou hast been a man of war, and hast shed blood (1 Chronicles 28:3). My soul hath long dwelt with him that hateth peace. I am for peace: but when I speak, they are for war (Psalm 120:6-7).

How Much Do You Study Your Bible?

Debt is of the spirit of Manipulation

Debt does not only have a power of bondage behind it. It has the power of manipulation behind it. It is not that debt can be used to manipulated others. Rather, this is a mere manifestation of the power of manipulation behind debt.  Debt has a power of manipulation behind it which operates by the game of debt played among the unsaved.  The rich of the world love debt because they know it makes people not merely dependent on them, but controlled by them. They can and do use debt for their own gains. The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender (Proverbs 22:7). The poor of the world also love debt because it enables them to get what they need. It enables them to act independently of God, not trusting in Him who all the world hate. Such is the game of debt. It is of the spirit of manipulation.  Debt is a tool of the rich people of the world to makes gains of the debt slavery of others. Debt is a liberator to the poor of the world because it enables them to

The spirit of Witchcraft uses Debt to Oppress those who Cannot Repay

Debt is a game embraced by the rich of the world, that is, those who have at least some. Debt, indeed, is a plaything of the rich used to oppress the poor, those who cannot repay. GK Chesterton once said in his classic book Utopia of Usurers and other Essays that: " Everyone knows that the people who can least pay their debts are the people who are always trying to. Among the poor a payment may be as rash as a speculation. Among the rich a bankruptcy may be as safe as a bank. Considering the class from which private soldiers are taken, there is an atrocious meanness in the idea of buying their blood abroad, while we sell their sticks at home ". That debt even exists is itself an indictment to the world, both the poor and the rich, those who have none and those who have some, both the borrower and the lender. It is an indictment to the world. People have to borrow money because people choose to treat what they possess as belonging to them, as individuals when all thi

Debt is a Deceptive Seducer who Panders to the Carnal Flesh

Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred . And when the tempter came to him , he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God . (Matthew 4:1-4) Many people, both the unsaved and saved, accept that borrowing money just for the purpose of luxuries, non-necessary items, such as a luxury or a city riverside apartment, is either wrong or greedy. They just merely accept that is too far. However, many such people think that borrowing money, that is to get into debt is acceptable and legitimate when it comes to seeking one's basic needs, such as a food, clothes and an 'average' house.  Indeed, many people have been forced to borrow debt, because of the whole mammonised system. From the earthl

The False Evil Doctrine of Material things as Blessings must be rooted out of the Church, Destroyed and Eradicated Completely

Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. But godliness with contentment is great gain . For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness ( 1 Timothy 6:5:11). Many in the modern Church think that they material things they have, are blessings from God. This is based on a false understanding on what is a blessing according to the Bible, and also of course, the belief in r

The False Doctrine of Material Blessings

But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased (Psalm 115:3). Many in the modern Church, especially the modern American Protestant Church, think that material abundance are what God blesses those who obey Him with. Some of these people even think that God blesses those who obey Him with their basic needs, because He is "obliged" to. What disgusting, vile, abominable blasphemy! This is a blasphemous doctrine, a doctrine of demons that has infiltrated the modern Church, especially among Protestant calvinist circles. The reason for such thinking is because the hearts thinks that one need not give up all to God and fully surrender to Him. Plain and simply. Such a heart, thinks that God is not Sovereign and somewhat subject to one's own needs. Such is damnable heresy.  The typical modern Christian will claim he does not think that, but he does. He thinks that in his heart. This is manifested by his actions, treating God as He who is obliged to giv
