How Tension between Savers and Borrowers is a Manifestation of Usury

Usury is interest on a loan, a charge made for lending. The Bible calls it an abomination (Ezekiel 18:13). Even secular atheistic people have condemned usury for being exploitative and evil. The ancient world, as wicked as it was, condemned usury, in the true sense of the term, that is, all interest on a loan. It was not only seen as unacceptable, but treated as an evil means of oppression and the height of all avarice. Usurers in the ancient world were satirised, mocked and ridiculed through literature.  To borrow and not repay is wicked in itself (Psalm 37:21). So, people who borrow money from a bank or another financial institution act and do not repay act wickedly. They are obliged to repay all their debts to the lender and will give an account to God for not doing so on the Day of Judgment. This is because borrowing and not repaying is  a sin. However, on the other hand, there are savers who receive 'returns' on their deposits, properly called usury, who in receiving su...

The Tension between Borrowers and Savers are the Fruit of the Evils of Usury and Capitalism

From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not (James 4:1-2). We live in a world full of conflicts, wars, tension and fighting. The world asks, how to solve all these conflicts, all while accommodating for the self-interest of all parties, by preaching that people should simply negotiate. Negotiation as practiced by the world is full of immoral, unethical deals, where people and nations are willing to not kill a person they already hate, which is already murder in the heart (1 John 3:15) , just because of money. However, the spiritually mature follower of Christ knows that none of these conflicts can be solved in any way, nor that it is even about 'solving' conflicts. Rather, he asks, what is in the heart of a man that causes him to fight. James 4:1-2 poses and answers this question: ...

Why the Modern Western Church Cannot Fight Usury

The modern western Church is not in the position to fight usury. What this means is not that it should not, but that it cannot. It should be fighting usury for it is a vile sin (Ezekiel 18:13; Luke 6:34).  Usury is not merely the fruit of greed, but much more than that. It is the ultimate epitome of blaspheming God and perversion of generosity which God intends the whole of humanity to be . It perverts generosity by making lending of money one in which a person has a 'right' to expect gain in return for lending his money. That is exactly what the perversion of usury is.  However, the vast majority of Christians, that is, true Bible-believing, orthodox, evangelical, conservative Christians in the west believe that usury is legitimate. They themselves are enslaved to mammon through their indebtedness to banks, the modern temple of mammon. They do not even think twice about borrowing money, especially from banks. This should shock you! By being indebted, one is enslave to m...

Mortgages are a trap from the Banks, whose master is Mammon

The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender (Proverbs 22:7). Many in the modern western Church have adopted the belief of the world that borrowing money is liberty. The idea that borrowing money is liberty is the standard view in economics and law. Anyone who believes that borrowing money is slavery is regarded as a foolish, backwards and an uneducated lunatic. The mainstream west even thinks that it is good that the purchase price of housing and land increases. Yet, it does not think that increase in price of other basics such as food and clothing is good. Many Christians living in the west have taken out mortgages, borrowing money just like the world. As such, they have gone into bondage to the lender bank. The Bible makes it very clear that the borrower is servant to the lender, not lender is servant to the borrower, or that the borrower is entering a mere deal with the lender. No, it says the borrower is servant to the lender (Proverbs 22:7). ...

The spiritual War of Debt

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:12). Debt is the force which has driven many wars. Wars run on debt, and those who finance the war make profits out of it. It is a business for them. These same people control all financial institutions who control the masses. They control the whole world. Debt is the cruel, heartless, cold, brutal slave driver who works on behalf of mammon, to drive the masses into debt slavery. He is like the cruel Egyptian slave driver who was severe, cruel, and heartless towards the Israelites in slavery (See Exodus 1-5) Debt is not merely a financial thing as many think it is, including many Christians. It is a spiritual thing. As such, the Christian must educate himself or herself on the issue of debt. Debt wages a spiritual war against all people, both the unsaved and saved. Debt is that cruel sla...

The Vile Evil of Seeking Debt

Many in the modern world feel the slavery of debt and sense it. However, little do they know what is it that makes them feel enslaved. Debt slavery is a spiritual issue, and the slavery of debt is spiritual. It is owing to the desire to satisfy the lusts of the flesh, and demons seize the opportunity to enslave people to these lusts of the flesh. The whole world is under the power of satan (2 Corinthians 4:4). All the things of the world are ruled by the devil, under the permissive will of God who authorises him to do so. The whole mammonised banking  and financial system is one of satan's bastions that he uses to control the whole world by their lusts of flesh, lusts of the eyes and pride of life. He controls people by using their lusts of the flesh, lusts of the eyes and the pride of life against them.  Such lusts and prides are the rope that the world will hang itself to death with, thinking that this rope is the rope of liberation which enables them to pull themselves ...

The Fight by Evil against the Evil of Usury, for Evil

The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth (Psalm 37:21). We live in a world that thinks borrowing money without being able to repay is a 'right'. They think that one is totally entitled to do so. The unsaved who are not bankers, but are subject to bankers think it is legitimate to borrow money as much as one wants, however one wants. They place the onus on the bank to make borrowing money affordable, in particular, to not charge usury on loans, out of their own self-interests. The unsaved bankers, on the other hand, simply dismiss the problem as the irresponsible borrowing of the borrowers on their own part.  Both sides, the unsaved non-bankers, and the unsaved bankers speak very dangerous half-truths that sound very very true, but are only almost right, and thus not right. They are of their father, the devil, who is the father of lies, speaking lies mixed with errors. As Jesus said to the unbelievers: " Ye are of your fath...

Usury is a sin, because God says so, for the reasons He says so. The Church and State must abolish usury!

Usury is a sin, no matter what the world thinks, what a pastor thinks, what many Christians may think, or what a professor thinks. Truth is only determined by what God says, and it is the only thing that matters. " Let God be true every man be a liar " (Romans 3:4). Only what God says is true. God and only God alone is true. No one else is true.  The Bible does make it clear that the prohibition of usury was part of the Moral Law, not the ceremonial law, or civil law. Why?  The ceremonial law is law of which obedience to was a foreshadowing of the Messiah, who would save the Nation of Israel from their sin. The most obvious example would be the giving of sacrifices which symbolised the need for bloodshed for their be forgiveness of sins (Hebrews 9:22).  The civil law is law which set out how sins was to be punished, and administered by God's appointed judges. Execution of murderers and adulterers are examples of civil law.  The Moral Law of God, however, is dif...

God is Sovereign over ABSOLUTELY ALL things, and sinful, wicked, arrogant Humanity tries to compete with God in all kinds of ways

Many in the modern world think that they are the "sovereign" over their own life. This is the individualistic, humanistic thinking of the age. We live in a sea of humanism. Just as a fish does not know it is wet, people in the modern world do not know of their fleshliness and wickedness, which manifests in humanism. Of course, the world is humanistic, and nothing else can be expected of it. What is to be of great concern is that the spirit of humanism has crept right into the modern Church. Preacher Paul Washer spoke about this in this short video. I strongly recommend you watch it: Washer uses the words of a preacher who once said that if a person is to burn in Hell for following Christ, Christ should still be followed without question because He is Christ. Indeed, it is not about you or me: it is about Christ and Christ alone.  Humanity seeks to compete with God in seeking to be Sovereign. Whether it be a person who outright denies that God exists and seek to run h...

Debt Slavery is Domination, Bondage, Manipulation and Control

Many in the modern Church do not realise what debt slavery is - domination, bondage, manipulation and control. They do not realise or understand how the spirit of mammon operates behind this whole system which the unsaved called the 'money system' which is of the 'money power'. The 'money system' is the mammonised debt-based global financial and banking system. The 'money power' is not an abstract force, but a real demonic spirit called the spirit of mammon. Those who you who don't believe the spirit of mammon seeks to enslave the world should just shut your mouth when making comments about theology related to money, possessions and mammon. Don't you dare make the cop-out that those who are under the spirit of mammon cannot be true Christians or that there is no such thing as an evil spirit behind every temptation to sin, leading to sin, the most convenient cop-out used by many in the modern Church.  He exists, and those of you who thinks he ...
