The Abuse of Scripture and the Perversion of Biblical "Gender Roles"

Gender roles is one of the hottest topics in society today, and it certainly is a topic that some Christian circles are fixated on, to the point that their entire theology on based on the question of gender roles. While submission of the wife is an important doctrine and is not to be neglected (Ephesians 5:22-23), and indeed should be taught more, owing to the constant perversion of it to qualify this teaching, some have gone to the other extreme to misapply gender roles. This is itself wrong and must be addressed, for it is well understood in most church circles that a wife must submit to her husband. Most reasonable non-fundamentalist Christians, irrespective of denomination, acknowledge that a wife is obligated to submit to her husband as part of her obligations towards him. But gender roles go both ways, in that the husband also has his obligations towards her, and are far more complex than the literal text of Ephesians 5 than fundamental Christians make it out to mean in makin...

The Error of "Sola Scriptura": the Mother of All Heresies

When speaking of dangerous doctrines, the average Christian today will point to the obviously erroneous doctrines of cults, such as that Jesus was a spirit brother of satan, that there are two 'gods' in the Bible, a cruel God in the Old Testament, and a kind God in the New Testament, or that Jesus had only a divine, but no human nature, and therefore did not die for the sins of the world.  However, little do these Christians think about why these heresies are able to arise in the first place. They simply dismiss them as the doctrines of crazy, psycho heretics - all without realising that they themselves are just as susceptible to heresy as those who are blatant heretics. One should never assume that because one attends a 'normal' church that one cannot fall into the trap of heresy. All most Christians to do is target such heretics for criticism, and lift no finger in helping them understanding why it is heresy, and why have they turned to such heresy as Jude 1:22-23 i...

The spirit of Absalom in False Teachers is of Self-centredness, Deception and Manipulation

False teachers are often simply regarded by many as those who teach false doctrines, and are dangerous because of that. False teachers, are far more dangerous than that. They are extremely dangerous people. They are wicked Absaloms, that is, self-centred, manipulative, and proud people whose words are all full of venom and nothing but curses. False teachers are what are called 'narcissists' in modern terms. They are absolutely demonic, diabolical people.Anyone who has even been in contact with such a wicked Absalom can testify of the self-centred prideful spirit of such people.  They are full of wickedness, and do not even know it. They are constantly trying to justify their wickedness by all cunning kinds of ways. In particular, those under the spirit of Absalom twist clear unambiguous teaching on the Bible, to render them ambiguous so that he can impute his own meaning to it, and push his own teachings onto people. His extremely subtle twisting of Scripture is his way of ...

False Teachers are Full of Lawlessness and Legalism

For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ (Jude 1:4). False teachers are full of lawlessness and seek to push their lawlessness onto others. The Bible warns about them because they infiltrate the Church and attempt to pervert Church teaching. They are extremely deceptive, and deceive many, who do not even realise that they are deceived. Their deception is often very subtle. They deceive not by outright lies, but by subtle lies that underlie their doctrines, which shape one's mindset, often without realising it.  Such lies have caused many to fall into spiritual bondage and which tempt people to sin, not because they seek to sin, but out of frustration, discontentment, anger, or pain.  For example, many false teachers in the contemporary context do not explicitly say, but effectively imply by t...

Beware Legalistic Doctrine Which is a Snare and Puts People in Spiritual Bondage

There are many teachers who claim to be Christians and who teach about Christian living. Many of them teach specific target audiences, and how certain areas of Christian living such be done, such as work, marriage, child-rearing and child discipline. However, many of these teachers impose specific rules which are not found in the Bible as to how people should live or not live. As a result, they claim that the Bible teaches something when it does not, and are therefore in error. Such spiritual error is dangerous because it will hold people in bondage to false teaching. Examples of false teaching include the teaching that ministry work is more holy, righteous, and God-glorifying that non-ministry work, that people must enter full-time ministry work if they are unmarried, that women cannot be called to work in certain arenas like business and academia, and that people must marry and have a family to holy and righteous. Such teaching is either explicit and implicit in many churches and...

Beware of any professing Teacher who does not Preach Jesus Christ

There are many professing teachers of the Word of God, who claim to serve God. 1 Peter 2:1-2 warns: But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. Indeed, there are many false teachers who claim to be servants of God but are really just servants of the devil. Anyone who has heard the teachings of many different teachers will have encountered a false teacher.   The purpose of a teacher is to edify the body of Christ so that she may come into the knowledge of Christ in the fullness of Christ: And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;   For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of ...

Anyone who Teaches the Word of God but is not called and sent is a False Teacher

The modern definition of a false teacher is one who teaches heresy and other false doctrines. However, that is only one characteristic of a false teacher. A false teacher is one who teaches the Word of God but is not called to be a teacher. To be a teacher of the Word of God, one must be called and sent. Ephesians 4:11 says "And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers". Being a teacher of the Word of God is a ministry that one must be called into by God to do, not one believes one is called by God to do so, or that one wants to be called to, but that one must be confirmed by God as called.  The evidence that one is truly called by God as teacher of His Word is by whether its purpose is fulfilled. The purpose of being called by God to be an apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor or teacher is to perfect the saints, work of ministry and edify the Body of Christ (Ephesians 4:12). The fruit that will be produced if one i...

The Abominable Hypocrisy and False Obedience of Many Professing Christians

Many in the modern Church in the west talk about how to deal with disappointment, and pain, as if dealing with their disappointments and pain are the key things of their Christianity.  Articles on Christian websites constantly speak about how one simply needs to "wait on God", "be patient" and "keep praying" to God to get what one wants, so as to simply comfort people that God will given the what they want. The subtle lie is that God will simply give what one wants if one wants it enough, and that God is obliged to give what one wants.  The issue is not about whether Jesus gives you want you want. The issue, and only issue, is whether you truly love Jesus and obey Him.  The focus on whether one gets what one wants reveals the tragic state of modern Christianity in the west. The truth is that many professing followers of Christ come running to Jesus asking Him to give them whatever earthly temporal want they have, be it a house, spouse, car, money, ho...

The Wise Life is the Blessed Life

Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding (Proverbs 3:13). The conventional view of a blessed life is one that is full of earthly temporal gifts, such as a well-respected profession, marriage and family. While such things may be gifts, they are merely temporal. What good are they if they do not make one to be rich in Christ, by making one serve Christ more faithfully, adding to one's heavenly riches? True riches, the only true riches, are heavenly riches which come only by serving Christ and loving Christ. The Bible says that the blessed life is one that is wise. Only by wisdom does one knows what direction one should live to please God to live a righteous life. To be blessed to be favoured by God because of living righteously before Him. Righteousness gives true joy and peace. The wise life is the blessed life. It is one characterised by constant learning, and understanding, leading to greater understanding and wisdom day by day. Having all the thing...

Ethnocentricism is of the spirit of Hatred and Pride

Ethnocentrism, or racism, is the idea that one's ethnicity makes one superior to others. It is an extremely subtle mindset which so many people are under but do not realise. It manifests in all kinds of ways. One such way it manifests is the belief that violence done by one ethnic group against another is justified, but violence done by another ethnic group is always wrong.  Ethnocentrism is a vile worldly mindset. It is entirely contrary to the teaching of the Bible that "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus" (Galatians 3:28). The distinctions which determine the superiority of one ethnicity, sex or social-economic status are gone in Christ. For all in Christ are in Christ who does not view any person as superior or inferior to another.  All people are sinners before God, and nothing but sinners, unless they recognise their sin before God, turn from their sins, and place ...

The Evils of Ethno-Nationalism

The Bible tells us the in the Last Days, there will be the rise in false doctrines and teachings (1 Timothy 4:1). Such false doctrines are indeed rampant as may be currently observed. The rapid degeneration into all kinds of wickedness being treated as not only acceptable, but normal and right will only get worse.  One such evil doctrine that is subtly creeping into the Church is ethno-nationalism. It is often thought that everyone except for a very insignificant minority in modern society denounces racism or ethno-nationalism in all forms. However, that is simply not true. Ethno-nationalism is rampant in the so-called 'progressive' west, like in America and many parts of Europe, include in Scandinavia. This is baffle some who think that ethno-nationalism belongs to a bygone era, and has no place in progressive societies. That is true in the sense that ethnic pride as a cultural norm and societal system was a defining feature of most if not all ancient pagan societies. Mode...

The Smugness of Being Self-satisifed in Having One's Needs Sufficiently Met

Many in the modern Church in the west are smug behind their wealth. That includes not just those with large houses,  high levels of disposable income, and high-paying jobs. No, includes the many who do not consider themselves rich, but have a house to live in with electricity with a job, or who receive government assistance for the basic needs. Many of such people are just as proud in their hearts as those with large houses, much disposable income and high-paying jobs. Such people often do not realise that they are trusting in mammon, as opposed to God. A person trusts one or the other (Matthew 6:24).  They focus on long-term financial planning to ensuring that they and their families needs will be met, instead of simply trusting in God. They look forward to simply enjoying their "retirement", as opposed to working to advance in the Kingdom of God and do good works. They simply want to enjoy spending their life savings in old age, instead of giving their extra money or we...
