Do not be deceived, Parable of the Talents is NOT an endorsement of Usury

Many in the modern Church think that the moral prohibition on usury, that is, any interest on a loan, in the Old Testament, is restricted to only one's brother, or the poor. They think that it does not apply to loans made to one who is not one's brother. The reason why one would think that would be out of one's own selfishness and legalism. There could be no other reason.  Why, you may ask? Usury is that which in and of itself is a sin, which one can know from one's own conscience. It is what the hard-hearted, unloving, self-centred and oppressive do as the Parable of Talents indicates in Matthew 25:24-28: Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed: And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest t

The spirit of Witchcraft Controls, Dominates and Murders through Lies

Witchcraft is rampant in the modern west. It is manifested through all modern western philosophies, whether it be liberalism, feminism, humanism, postmodernism or modernism. It seeks to espouse the lie that one can define truth. Witchcraft all started in the Garden of Eden in Genesis 3:1-7: Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.     And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant

Political Correctness and Self-defined "truth" is a Manifestation of the spirit of Witchcraft

There is nothing new under the sun (Ecclesiastes 1:9). Indeed, there is nothing new under the sun. Witchcraft is often thought of as an ancient craft, practiced only by mentally and emotionally unstable and ignorant people. However, nothing can be further from the truth.  Witchcraft is rampant in the modern west, in more 'enlightened' and 'sophisticated' ways. Instead of rubbing magic charms and hugging trees, witchcraft now manifests itself in manipulation of thought by language and speech. It is now more obvious, but yet more subtle. It is all around us in the advertisements, media, academia, business world, politics and culture. Yet it is subtle because it is invisible, and can only be discerned spiritually, and not by observation of rituals, rites and superstitious dances.  The spirit of witchcraft feeds on the desire to control and manipulate others for one's own self-interest. This explains why witchcraft religions are often, if not always, nature-worshipp

Usury is the Worship of Mammon and Hatred for God

Hath given forth upon usury, and hath taken increase: shall he then live? he shall not live: he hath done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon him (Ezekiel 18:13). Usury is in an of itself the worship of mammon. It is to make money an idol, seeking mammon to make money, instead of getting to work and trusting in God to provide for one.  Instead of God providing the money one needs, it is mammon who provides it. It is this desire to be independent from God which makes usury a sin. It is the worship of mammon. He who worships mammon not only hates God, but can only hate God. It is not that usury causes social problems or economic troubles to the world that makes it a sin. It is because it is the outright denial of one's need to trust in God and depend on Him that it is sin. This offends God and is why usury is sin.  No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise

God's Glory In Marriage

The Moral Prohibition against Usury applies to both one's Brothers and Enemies, not just one's Brothers

Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is p erfect (Matthew 5:43-48). The human heart is oh so legalistic. It loves to only love for its own self-interest, and hate only our of its own self-interest. It loves to strive for law, for its enables it to justify its own self-righteousness and seeks to be able to exploit loopholes in it, to do what it

Usury is Theft, using Debt owed as an Excuse

A man in Baltimore was sued over old debt and blocked from suing back . This stirred up a sense of disgust among people, even unsaved earthly people. There was a sense of moral repugnance. Why?  This is because people know deep down inside from their moral conscience that it is wrong for a lender to take money from a debtor in excess of the loan, that is, wrong to charge interest on a loan.  The man in Baltimore was sued over old debt, which is to take money in excess of the loan, that is, charging interest on it. It is to make one's own selfish gain off the debt slavery of others.  That is exactly what the heart of usury is, to steal from others, by using debt as an excuse.  It is to take increase on the loan. Usury is theft. There are no exceptions and no excuses to charge usury whatsoever.  Hath given forth upon usury, and hath taken increase: shall he then live? he shall not live: he hath done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon him (

The Perversity of the Feminism which Dominates the Pro-life Movement

Many people think that the pro-life movement is an anti-feminist movement, against women’s so-called “rights”. However, what many people, both pro-abortion and anti-abortion people do not realise is that the pro-life movement is d ominated by feminism – feminism with a conservative face. The pro-life movement seeks to fight abortion, not because it is sin, but rather it is because it is against women’s “rights”, among other anti-Christian, unbiblical reasons. The pro-life movement must be seen for what it is. It is an ungodly, humanistic movement, with no regard for what God says about abortion. Rather, it regards what humans, mere filthy wicked humans think or say about abortion.  The Bible makes it very clear that God hates hands that shed innocent blood (Proverbs 6:16-17). This cannot be denied, no matter what. God absolutely abominates those hands who murder. He sees them as vile, abominable, disgusting, evil, wicked and worthy of death. Such people are truly worthy of deat

There is No True Exception to the Moral Prohibition against Usury

The Moral Law of God stems from His very Character and His very nature. It is eternal. God gave Old Testament Israel the Mosaic Law which contains three types of laws: ceremonial laws, civil laws and moral laws. Although the ceremonial and civil laws of the Old Testament are not morally binding today, they all have a moral and spiritual significant underlying them. It is the moral and spiritual significance underlying all the ceremonial and civil laws which still apply today because the moral and spiritual lesson behind them are of the Moral Law of God.  The civil laws of Israel regulated how God's justice and law was to be administered regarding the temporal. For example, the laws regarding property were civil laws of Israel, which were based upon the Moral Law of God as all laws of God given by the Prophets are based on the Moral Law, which hinges on His Love. Jesus made this clear in Matthew 22:37-40, when asked what was the Greatest Commandment in the Law in Matthew 22:36:

Why Do Christians Reject The Quran?

God's Moral Prohibition on Usury which applies to All Loans, not just Loans to the Poor

Many in the modern Church, including conservative Christian theologians, think that the prohibition of usury in the Old Testament was only applicable to loans to the poor, and permitted to all other loans. They even try to argue that by not charging usury, one is sinning, loving to (mis)use verses like 1 Timothy 5:8 to make such a vile, abominable, disgusting argument.  On the face of it, it may seem as though only charging usury against the poor was prohibited by God: " If thou lend money to any of my people that is poor by thee, thou shalt not be to him as an usurer, neither shalt thou lay upon him usury " (Exodus 22:25). This raises the question as to why in Exodus 22, only charging interest to the poor is mentioned. In Old Testament Israel and throughout the ancient world, it was mostly the poor who borrowed money for their basic needs. So, this is why this command was directed to how to treat the poor. There are clear instances in the Bible where there is no indicati

Usury is Double-mindedness

But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways (James 1:6-8). Usury is double-mindedness. It is of the spirit of double-mindedness, and cannot be done without such double-mindedness for usury itself is double-mindedness.  To be double-minded is to ask for one thing, and believe in another. It manifests itself in something which is faith, but yet not wholehearted faith. From faith, comes love. Thus, double-mindedness manifests in something which is love, but yet not wholehearted love. This is all manifested in those who seek to be kind, but yet at the same time retract from full and wholehearted kindness. Such is the case of usury. It is to loan money, which is itself an act of generosity, but done not to be wholeheartedly generous, but to serve oneself.

God's Moral Prohibition of Usury is Part of the Eternal Moral Law, NOT only applicable to Old Testament Israel

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.   On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets (Matthew 22:37-40). Many in the modern Church, including conservative Christian theologians think that the prohibition of usury only applies to the Old Testament Israel. They claim that it is not a Moral Law of God, but only a civil law of God, as John Calvin wrote, twisting the Scriptures, sowing the seed for the legitimisation of usury, and the widespread practice of money-lending, which means lending money at interest or usury. They argue that even if it is a Moral Law, it only applies to Israel. The Moral Law of God was, is and will forever more be the same unto Eternity for God never changes. It is ironic that of these (professing) Christians claim that the Moral Law of God never

Usury is evil ONLY because it offends God, not because it may offend the World or Church

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (John 14:6). We live in an age where people are so sensitive and easily offended about everything. People are hyper-sensitive about even the most trivial things, getting offended at even a use of a non-derogatory, non-profane word that one just do not personally prefer to use. As such, there are many social movements in the world which seek to supposedly fight evil, that is, supposedly. Whether it be the anti-human trafficking movement, anti-domestic violence movement or the anti-pornography movement, that these movements started by the world and embraced by the world should indicate to the Christian to be very skeptical and cautious about such movements, run by vile, evil, abominable people such as liberals and feminists. The question that must always be asked is whether God says it is evil, not what any human being thinks, whether it be a muslim, atheist, hindu, liberal, or a Ch

Is Homosexuality a Sin?

Failure to fully accept the Whole Counsel of God itself is a manifestation of Seeking to Serve mammon

For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God (Acts 20:27). Many in the modern Church do not seem to know what it means to take the whole counsel of God. They love to select only certain Bible verses, such as those of grace and love, of course, and then neglect, or even ignore those about submission to various God-ordained earthly authorities, as well as the wrath and justice of God. Such is the manifestation of liberalisation which has so subtly crept into the Church, that it is only just enough so that it does not even realise it, but yet enough to poison the Church's mindset. All its adoption of "rights", "equality" and "liberty" are only just examples of this poisoning.  John Calvin's stance on usury is just one such example. He was strict about holiness in all areas of life, but one - that is Biblical finance. Many in the modern western Church have indeed this same kind of mindset which seeks holiness in all areas of li
