Earthly Happiness is False Joy and Nothing but an Illusion

Many people love to boast about the things that they have which everyone seeks after but do not have, whatever it may be. They boast and their boasting makes people feel uncomfortable, upset or envious. The reason people feel that way is because people not only seek after earthly happiness.  Earthly happiness is that which people find security. People derive their earthly happiness from not only the earthly temporal things they have, but also their security. That is why people feel uncomfortable, upset or covetous when seeing others also have what they have and find their security in. The earthly happiness people have is not true joy. The nature of joy is that it is supernatural. It is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22). Since joy is a fruit of the spirit, it does not and cannot come from the flesh. For as the Scriptures say: For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.   For to be c...

Christianity is Not a Pacifist Religion

Modern Christianity is very different from the Christianity of the early Church and the Middle Ages. Modern Christianity has become a weak, pacified religion that is full of the fear of people, and scared of confronting people.  Instead of challenging and defying the world on its wicked evil ways, it seeks to conceal its righteous ways out of fear of what the unsaved think, and fails to speak what God says on their wicked ways in a plain and simple ways. Rather, they seek to pander to their sympathies, trying to convince them of righteousness by appealing to moral arguments from the world itself. For example, it seeks to convince people that abortion is wrong because it "hurts" women, rather than because it is murder and a sin in the eyes of God. It seeks to convince people that homosexual marriage is wrong because it leaves children and women vulnerable, rather than because homosexuality itself is sin in the eyes of God.  The modern Church in the west calls sin anything ...

Agape Love versus Romantic "Love" and the Push for Sodomite "marriage"

One of the key arguments that supporters of sodomite "marriage" use is that "love is love". They argue that because marriage is about love, people should be able to get married as long as they love each. This is based on the idea that the foundation of marriage is love, by which they mean romantic sentimental love. As such, opponents of sodomite "marriage" counter by asking, what if marriage was more than about love, as this Australian Federal Member of Parliament asks in a parliamentary debate: However, this barely addresses the real issue in any adequate manner. It simply only raises a question, and does not demonstrate why marriage should not be extended to sodomites, on the basis that all love is valid. As such, a proponent of sodomite "marriage" could respond by arguing that marriage is more than about love, but still is about love, by which they mean, of course, that romantic love is needed before a man and woman enter the marriage ...

True Biblical Love is Not a Sentimental Feeling, but Strives to Do the Will of God, No Matter What the Cost

Everyone in the modern Church loves to talk about God's love, grace and mercy, but hates to talk about His wrath, justice and anger. They snarl at anyone who dares point out that God is angry at the wicked everyday (Psalm 7:11) and that God hates (Psalm 5:5; Psalm 11:5; Leviticus 20:23; Proverbs 6:16-19; Hosea 9:15). These Bible verses tell us this: The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity (Psalm 5:5). The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth (Psalm 11:5). And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them (Leviticus 20:23). These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh l...

How the idea that Usury was Wrong Simply because it could be used to "Take Advantage of People" opened the door to All Usury. The Law of Love makes it clear that Usury is Sin.

A particular moral position taken by a person may be right, but for the wrong, that is, unbiblical reasons. A person may even have the right reasons for being against a wrong, but have the wrong, that is, unbiblical approach in fighting it.  Opposition to usury, simply on the grounds that it could be used to "take advantage of someone", rather than because God hates usury, has lead to the total endorsement of usury in the west. This was indeed the argument made by John Calvin, who argued that whether usury was wrong was dependent on whether it was "equitable" or not. It is this very distinction itself between "equitable" and "unequitable" usury which opened the door for support for usury. This argument can be referred to as the 'slippery slope' argument. So, what is a slippery slope argument? It is an argument which in supporting something, for which one must logically conclude that one must support another thing of the same kind, but...

Usury Feeds on the Perverse Doctrine that the Money one has is One's own

Many people just can't understand why usury is wrong morally. This includes many Christians. Many in the modern Church conceptual sin as simply something that breaks a 'rule' of God. This is a very low view of God's righteousness and holiness as it reduces the concept of sin as one that is simply to break some commandments of God. No! Sin is anything that offends the nature or character of God, that which offends His righteousness, holiness, justice, compassion, faithfulness, mercy, grace or love. Legalistic "christianity" does not espouse a high view of God's righteousness and holiness. Rather, it espouses a low view of God's righteousness and holiness in seeking to redefine righteousness into simply adhering to some 'rules'. This does not make one righteous, but makes one all the more unrighteous in thinking that one can be righteous in one's own flesh.  However, this is not the say that the Law of God is not to be strived for. Jesus ...

Usury is Not a Matter of One's Own Conscience, but a Matter of Sin

For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them. And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again. But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful (Luke 6:32-36). The New Testament has as much Law as the Old Testament does. The New Testament is a continuation of the Old Testament. The Law of God is the delight of the true follower of Christ (Psalm 1:2; 119:16, 97). It is the glorious Law of God, an expression of His perfect and utter Holiness and Righteousness.  The Law of God is of the Law of Love for God is love. He th...
