We hear about the destruction of western culture and civilisation from conservative Christian activists in the west, who are very upset about the decline of the west. The west once used to be the bedrock of Christendom. Now, it is a cesspool of nothing but decadence, immorality, debauchery, all promoted under the false guise of "liberty" and "freedom", claimed to be "progress".
So, what lead to the decline of the west? Rebellion against God. That is what it is. Rebellion. It is the lack of submission to God, which started not from the 1960's and 70's in America, but from the 16th century during the so-called Enlightenment Era. The "enligtenment" era, which really should be called the "demonic-lightenment" era, because that is what it is, was when the west rejected faith in God, and sought its own way of reasoning. The "light" which people have received is really that which is from satan, who disguises himself as an angel of light to deceive the unsaved (2 Corinthians 11:14).
Seeking one's own way is itself a sin against God, the height of all rebellion. Here is what the Bible says about seeking to think in one's own way, rejecting the counsel of God:
Woe to the rebellious children, saith the Lord, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:
2 That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!
3 Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion (Isaiah 30:1-3).
The people of Israel was bought to shame for even thinking that they could seek counsel apart from God. Such indeed is the manifestation of the spirit of rebellion who works through the hearts of rebellious people.
The Bible has much to say about false teaching. It does not distinguish between false teaching from "religious" establishments or "secular" establishments. All false teaching is false teaching, whether it be "religious" or "secular", behind which there is a demon:
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils (1 Timothy 4:1).
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world (1 John 4:1).
My friends, there is a such thing as demons who are responsible for making up false doctrines and using wicked human servants of the devil to spread them and murder countless souls by lies.
False teaching and the heeding of such teaching is all the manifestation of rebellion. Such false teaching is leaven that leavens the whole lump, as Jesus said in Matthew 16:6-12:
Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no bread.
Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread?
Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?
Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
Galatians 5:7-9 also describes false teaching as leaven:
Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?
This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you.
A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.
Only a little leaven, that is, only the slightest bit of a deviation from the truth of God's Word is itself false teaching. It is itself rebellion as it rejects the counsel of God. To reject the counsel of God is itself rebellion which is as the sin of witchcraft:
For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king (1 Samuel 15:23).
Unsubmission, in even the slightest bit, is itself rebellion which leavens the whole lump. It destroys the whole Church because of rebellion, and the power of the sin of rebellion over them enslaved to the the spirit of rebellion, because of their own rebellion.
