False teachers are often simply regarded by many as those who teach false doctrines, and are dangerous because of that. False teachers, are far more dangerous than that. They are extremely dangerous people. They are wicked Absaloms, that is, self-centred, manipulative, and proud people whose words are all full of venom and nothing but curses.
False teachers are what are called 'narcissists' in modern terms. They are absolutely demonic, diabolical people.Anyone who has even been in contact with such a wicked Absalom can testify of the self-centred prideful spirit of such people.
They are full of wickedness, and do not even know it. They are constantly trying to justify their wickedness by all cunning kinds of ways. In particular, those under the spirit of Absalom twist clear unambiguous teaching on the Bible, to render them ambiguous so that he can impute his own meaning to it, and push his own teachings onto people. His extremely subtle twisting of Scripture is his way of manipulating people who are genuinely seeking truth.
A person under the spirit of Absalom treats his own interpretation as the Word of God itself. He thinks that his interpretation is the Law of God, and anyone who does not comply with it, even to the slightest is a wicked, diabolical sinner. He makes people who do not comply with his own interpretation of the Word of God feel sinful or guilty, just because they do not agree with his interpretation.
A person under the spirit of Absalom always has an agenda for himself. 2 Samuel 15:1-4 says:
And it came to pass after this, that Absalom prepared him chariots and horses, and fifty men to run before him.
And Absalom rose up early, and stood beside the way of the gate: and it was so, that when any man that had a controversy came to the king for judgment, then Absalom called unto him, and said, Of what city art thou? And he said, Thy servant is of one of the tribes of Israel.
And Absalom said unto him, See, thy matters are good and right; but there is no man deputed of the king to hear thee.
Absalom said moreover, Oh that I were made judge in the land, that every man which hath any suit or cause might come unto me, and I would do him justice!
He appears to be very honest to people and genuine in seeking justice, but he is not. He has his own agenda which he calls "justice" or "righteousness", as he defines it for himself. Owing to his honest guise, he has much credibility in the eyes of people who are truly seeking justice or righteousness, and who are compelled to obey or heed him. 2 Samuel 15:5-6 continues:
And it was so, that when any man came nigh to him to do him obeisance, he put forth his hand, and took him, and kissed him.
And on this manner did Absalom to all Israel that came to the king for judgment: so Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel.
Everything about his so-called teaching ministry is centred on teaching people what he wants to teach to advance his own agenda. His interpretation of the Word of God is always to suit his own agenda. He is usually intellectual, and is extremely skilled at twisting the Word of God in very subtle ways by using all manner of sophistry. He is excellent at the art of using the Word of God to justify his own interpretations, while maintaining the guise that he is genuinely trying to interpret the Word to understand truth.
An Absalom is a narcissist. He thinks that he is very wise and intellectual, but is unstable and ignorant, twisting the Scriptures to his own destruction (2 Peter 3:16).
Flee from Absalom. Cut yourself from all contact with him.
Repent, and turn to Jesus Christ.
