Heresies Originate from False Revelations of the spirit of the Antichrist who seeks to Attack Christ
Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart
from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own
conscience seared with a hot iron, forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods
which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and
know the truth. For every creature of God is good,
and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving; for it is sanctified by the word of God and
prayer.
1 Timothy 4:1-5
People often look at cults and heretical sects and regard
them as laughable fanatics and lunatics who they could not possibly end up
following. They look at them pitifully and condescendingly at the same time,
thinking they are so wise. Yet, most people are themselves under their own
heresies, be it oneness pentacostalism, atheism, Islam or Judaism.
Most, if not all heresiarchs, such as Joseph Smith, Charles
Taze Russell, and Helena Blavatsky received false revelations and visions about
God, built their theology based on such revelations and visions, and started a
cult based on it, leading their followers of eternal Destruction.
In other words, no one wakes up one morning and declares that
they want to start a cult and heretical sect. No heresy or evil ideology
operates in such a blatant way. All heresies and evil ideologies operate in
much more subtle ways, and by incremental steps. One key way in which such evil
operates is by attacking another real evil which people are rightly concerned
about to justify and cover another evil. The counterjihad movement is a
very pertinent example. While it claims to attack Islam, its motive from the
very start is wrong and corrupt. For it does not hate Islam for being an
anti-Christian heresy. It hates Islam out of its own selfishness, for fear of
the erosion of one's "liberties" and well as motivated by
racism.
A theological heresy showing the subtleties of evil is
"oneness pentacostalism". "Oneness pentacostalism" claims
to believe in Jesus, and that Jesus is God. Yet, oneness pentacostals have the
wrong view of God, in denying the Trinity in various ways. Even the denial of
the Trinity is very subtle. Some deny it by saying that God the Father and the
Holy Spirit are one, and that Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit, but deny
that Jesus was part of the Trinity. Others argue that God the Father, God the
Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit are only three forms of the way in which
God manifests, and not three persons. Some argue that they agree Jesus is part
of the Trinity but that the Holy Spirit is only a force or energy, and not a
person who is part of the Trinity.
All heresies always attack the Trinity because it is the
foundation of who God truly is. The Trinity doctrine concerns not only that
there are three persons, God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy
Spirit. It also concerns the relationship between the three persons and their
respective natures. As long as one denies or misconceptualises even to the
slightest any aspect of the Trinity, one has a false view of God and cannot be
truly saved.
The Trinity can only be known by spiritual revelation
revealed by God to the person. For Jesus said: "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws
him; and I will raise him up at the last day"
(John 6:44). All theological doctrines are spiritual, but not all that is
spiritual is of God. Many revelations and visions that people claim to receive
are from the devil or other deceiving spirits: Now
the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the
faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy (1 Timothy 4:1).
Just
as the true God can only be known by spiritual revelation from God, false
versions of God come from spiritual revelations from demons. The Scripture
itself says that false prophets are those who receive false visions and
revelations from demonic spirits: Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether
they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the
world (1 John 4:1).
1 John 4:2-3 lays the test for how to discern whether a
revelation is from the Holy Spirit is from demonic powers:
By this you know the Spirit of God: Every
spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that
Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you
have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.
Only the Spirit of God can testify that Jesus Christ has come
in the flesh. It is not enough that a spirit testifies of Jesus, for many evil
spirits can and do testify of many a false Jesus. This explains why many
heretical sects, false religions and cults do speak of Jesus. Evil spirits can
testify of Jesus. But what they cannot testify is that Jesus has come in the
flesh. This itself makes Judaism heresy, the mother of heresies, for it
testifies that Jesus has not yet come. It was indeed Judaism that killed Jesus.
It was the Judaisers, who St Paul constantly refuted, and rebuked as evident in
Galatians, who shouted "Crucify Him, crucify Him!" (Mark 15:13; Luke
23:21) calling for Jesus to be put to death, out of pure hatred for
Christ!
For by denying Jesus has come in the flesh, one denies Jesus'
existence altogether, rejecting Him, who is the Truth. For Christ Himself is
Truth, for because Christ is God, rejection of Christ is the rejection of
God.
Jesus answered and said to them, āEven if I
bear witness of Myself, My witness is true, for I know where I came from and
where I am going; but you
do not know where I come from and where I am going. You judge
according to the flesh; I
judge no one. And yet if I do judge, My judgment is true; for I
am not alone, but I am with
the Father who sent Me. It
is also written in your law that the testimony of two men is true. I am One
who bears witness of Myself, and the
Father who sent Me bears witness of Me.ā
Then they
said to Him, āWhere is Your Father?ā
Jesus
answered, āYou know neither Me nor My Father. If you had
known Me, you would have known My Father also.ā
(John 8:14-19)
Without knowing Jesus, one
does not and cannot know God. Judaism is the mother of all heresies for it
boldly rejects Jesus outright, not even acknowledging Him in any way. All
heresies begin with a false view of the Trinity and ultimately attack Jesus,
because heresies are errors, which pervert Truth, who is Christ. Hence
why Scripture testifies that "every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ
has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you
have heard was coming, and is now already in the world" (1 John 4:3).
All heresies are of the antichrist spirit who hates Jesus Christ, and therefore hate God. This antichrist spirit was most manifested in the fullest form in the Pharisees who accused Jesus of blasphemy because He testified that He was God, and sentenced Him to death for claiming that He was God. That is the ultimate manifestation of the spirit of the antichrist - an intense hatred of Christ so great that one denies who He truly is, God who has come in the flesh, who died for the sins of the world, and who rose again, so that we may be forgiven.
The true Christ is He who conquered death which sin brought into the world. He is the only giver of eternal Life, for He is the Life Eternal.
Jesus said: āI am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14:6)
