The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe (Proverbs 29:25).
The fear of man is contrasted here with putting one's trust in God. Fear of man is a manifestation of not fully trusting in God. It is a sin, a manifestation of pride, thinking that one's way is better than God's. Such people often like to tell others to not 'offend' others and twist the Bible is all sorts of ways to justify their man-fearing ways in all they do, whether it be preaching or evangelism.
Beware of falling into the snare of not only the fear of man, but those who fear man. Shun them and cut yourself off from them. They are like poison to your spirit.
