For there is no respect of persons with God (Romans 2:11).
Ye shall not respect persons in judgment; but ye shall hear the small as well as the great (Deuteronomy 1:17).
Many people in the modern western world think of themselves as so ethical and morally good because they support the downtrodden, or alleged downtrodden, in favour over those who are powerful, rich and strong. Even the modern Church in the west is not immune from this spiritual disease of respect of persons, or favouritism.
The west, including many in modern Church in the west not only has respect of persons. It is full of respect of persons. This respect of persons is manifested in all kinds of ways, whether it be manifested in helping only the poor get their earthly temporal basic needs, and being full of human-centred sympathy towards their plight; helping only victims of sex trafficking and no one else as if they are only people in the world who suffer; or supporting the criminalisation of only those who engage in sexual immorality with paid harlots, but not the vile harlot herself.
All this is respect of persons. It is not justice, or righteousness at all, as those who have such mindsets think. It is utterly unjust and unrighteous.
The flesh is full of respect of persons because respect of persons enables one to choose who one wants to love and care for, and who one does not want to love in the true Biblical sense. Respect of persons does not only seek to justify self-centredness and self-love, but is itself self-love. Respect of persons 'loves' and 'cares' for people, only on the basis of who is the person to be loved, rather than seeking to love selflessly for its own sake.
Respect of persons is the core of all the vile, evil, despicable political and social movements in the modern west. It seeks not truth, and to vindicate righteousness, and it is not selfless love at all. It is a vile perversion of agape love, turning the beauty of selflessness, into a vile double-minded love which loves only based on who is being loved.
Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34).
