Many people, both Christians and the unsaved, think that democracy is the best system of free society and just government. They think that democracy is closest to political utopia on Earth. However, this is far from the truth and demonstrates how satan comes as an "angel of light" (2 Corinthians 11:14).
The underlying philosophy of democracy is that human interests trump all other things. Human "rights". Human needs. Human "wisdom". Human philosophy. This elevates human beings above all things, treating humanity as a god when only God is Sovereign above all things. Thine, O LORD, [is] the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all [that is] in the heaven and in the earth [is thine]; thine [is] the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all. Both riches and honour [come] of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand [is] power and might; and in thine hand [it is] to make great, and to give strength unto all.(1 Chronicles 29:11-12). Democracy is not only clear contradiction of God's Sovereignty, it is an outright denial of God's Sovereignty in the unrighteousness of humanity.
God is attempted to be dethroned by His Creation who think they know better than God. Therefore, within the democratic framework, the only acceptable principles to be applied are those that are "rational" to human nature, the flesh and the carnal mind that is "enmity against God, that which is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be" (Romans 8:7).
Democracy is the basis of the law of nation which embraces the democratic philosophy. Laws are made according to the changes of society because laws are treated as that which are to be made for society, by society. The laws are never to be based on the Laws of God but hostile against it, attributing human "wisdom" to laws that are supposedly moral like laws against murder or violence, which humans praise themselves for as "progressive". They claim, that they do not need "religion", which is of course, as reference to God, as to form the basis of a moral framework. God is treated as a "social construct"! Such is the arrogance and pride of wicked, sinful, rotten humanity!
When society fears a lack of security, wealth or stability, it does not even seek to be 'moral' because morality does not exist within the democratic framework. Only ethics that respects human thinking is the one that is to sought at the highest moral framework possible because it suits the society. Thus, the most "tolerant" framework, especially that in respect to religion is needed. Since true Christianity is against human thinking because it is of God, it is never accommodated for, nor can it be accommodated for, by a democracy framework because the framework itself is fundamentally against Christianity.
