The spirit behind debt seeks to Dominate

The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender (Proverbs 22:7).

Debt has a spirit behind it which dominates people. This itself indicate that the spirit behind it is not from God. God does not seek to dominate. It is against His nature. Domination is self-centred and self-serving. Self-sacrifice is anathema to domination. Rather than making sacrifices for others, the spirit behind debt makes other sacrifice for it.

The spirit behind debt is the spirit of mammon who seeks to dominate and enslave people to him. Beware of debt. Get out of debt quickly as possible. Avoid all debt at all costs.

That is why usury, a charge on a loan is so wicked. It is to make gains out of the slavery of others.

Hath given forth upon usury, and hath taken increase: shall he then live? he shall not live: he hath done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon him (Ezekiel 18:13).
