The world's peace thrives on envy and strife. This is the complete opposite of true peace from God which is not present nor can be where there is envy and strife: For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work (James 3:16).
Worldly peace is not God's peace but rather diametrically opposed to God's peace. Worldly peace comes from the lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and pride of life (1 John 2:16). Worldly peace is what the world is blinded into thinking is peace by the spirit of mammon, who feeds on anxiety of the flesh, that which is anxious for earthly things. The spirit of mammon indeed works behind the whole world system of peace. Such peace not only is based on envy and strife, but feeds and thrives on envy and strife. Worldly peace is the knowledge that one is able to justify one's envy and strife against others.
Worldly peace is knowledge, based on truths about the world, just as godly peace is knowledge. Since worldly peace is knowledge that one is able to justify one's envy and strife against others, it is one feeds on competition, division and rivalry. It comes from knowing that one can justify one's envy and strife against others because one has more earthly things, whether it be power, money, career, relationship, or any other earthly thing.
The spirit of mammon is the enslaver of the world to worldly peace, blinding them into thinking they have real peace, when they do not have peace at all. All peace the world has is just a mere illusion, that comes only from its own love of envy and strife.
