The spirit of war is one that desires to oppress others and takes pleasure in doing so. It loves to dominate over others, and not only desires to be the dominator over all others, but hates those who seek to escape from its domination. The spirit of war seeks revenge against all who seek to challenge his authority. Not only does he accept no equals, he cannot rest until he gets rids of all those who even dare question him.
When Jezebel found out that Elijah the prophet had not only challenged Baal, but killed all the prophets of Baal, she was livid (1 Kings 18-19):
When Jezebel found out that Elijah the prophet had not only challenged Baal, but killed all the prophets of Baal, she was livid (1 Kings 18-19):
Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time. And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beersheba, which belongeth to Judah, and left his servant there. But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O Lord, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers (1 Kings 19:2-4).
The spirit of war is of the spirit of witchcraft which seeks to control and dominate. The spirit of war murders and is of violence. The spirit of witchcraft controls those who are consumed by the lust of power. It oppresses the person and controls the power under the spirit of witchcraft to feel oppressed. It works through selfish, ambitious and power-hungry people who are blinded by her to think that seeking selfish ambition and murdering those who hinder them are legitimate. The spirit of witchcraft blinds such a person into thinking that those who oppose her are seeking to oppress her.
