Tearing down powers of darkness is that which only the Church can do

Many in the modern church are extremely apathetic towards fighting evils, and for those that do, they usually do so within the boundaries of what the world deems acceptable in fighting evil. For example, many Christians are involved in fighting sex slavery. Sex slavery is evil, there is no doubt. However, they only seek to fight sex slavery, while ignoring or being apathetic about all other evils such as the homosexual agenda, liberalism, and usury.

One may say that the secular governments, or other non-Christian governments such as Islamic governments are instituted by God. That is true (Romans 13:1), however, in no way does this mean the church's role in fighting evil is abdicated. By no means! The world would love the church to think its role in fighting all evils if abdicated so that they can continue to enjoy drinking their wickedness. However, God's ordinance of government is one thing. The Church fighting evil is another.

Many Christians make the naive assumption that the government is capable of fighting evil. Nothing could be further from the truth. The world, of which the government is a part of, does not understand evil, or does it even have the ability to fight evil. How can evil fight evil? How can darkness see darkness? How can darkness fight darkness? A world under the power of darkness is unable to understand evil for what it truly is, and is incapable of doing so. It can do all things that God gives the ability to do, except for fighting evil for it itself is evil.

Only the church, which has the Light and walks in the Light (1 John 1:7) can expose evils done in darkness. That is why the church must wake up to all evils including usury, humanism, feminism and liberalism and fight them. These things have no good in them for they are the philosophies of unregenerate man or woman. The unregenerate have nothing good in them (Romans 7:18; Luke 18:19). Thus, all their philosophies are wicked, foolish, vile and abominable filth. It is precisely for this reason that the Bible warns against the traditions of man: Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ (Colossians 2:8).

The church must always actively resist the world, and resist compromise with the world. It must also actively discern and expose the doctrines of demons and satan. To do this, it must get wisdom, discernment and understanding from God. The battle against evil is only won by submitting to God and earnestly seeking Him.

Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.  Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
(Matthew 5:13-16)
