War. Many die as a result of it. Many families are torn apart because of it. Many women lose their sexual dignity as a result of it. Many children are tortured and manipulated into it. War.
Many Christians claim to support war in the quest to serve justice and help the vulnerable. They claim that this is a righteousness, despite not knowing about the roots of such thinking. Indeed, the "Just War" Theory was formulated by catholic church. Many in the modern church are influenced by it. Many non-Christians are influenced by it too in a quest for justice.
Can war really be just? What is the real nature and spirit of war? What did Jesus say?
That is what this next series of posts will explore.
