Many of Christians in the modern church are confused about what the Bible says about sin. Galatians 2:20 states: My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Once a person is in Christ, Jesus "has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west" (Psalm 103:12).
God is so merciful that He can forgive any sin no matter how deep or how entrenched, He can wash it all away when one comes to seek forgiveness from God. This is true repentance. Whenever you see a person whose mouth is stopped after you present the Law, he or she is ready for Grace. You must present Grace to them if their mouth is stopped, otherwise you are doing a disservice. A person's mouth is stopped when they know they have no excuse and are convicted they have broken God's Law. This does happened as evidenced by the Way of the Master witnessing clips.
The old sinful self has DIED in Christ. A person who is truly born-again of the Spirit IS a "new creature" (2 Corinthians 5:17). All your sins - past, present and future have been FORGIVEN. That is, one's sins are not only washed away and taken away. This is just shows how merciful, kind, forgiving, loving, amazing, good God is. Only He is worthy of all praise. That is why believers are to "forgive others just as Christ has forgiven you" (Ephesians 4:32). Forgive those who mock you or try to trap you in walk with God. That is why He commanded the saved to forgive others.
Forgiveness is of the spirit of love. Love is from God. Love does not come from our evil flesh but God alone. The hallmark of a person who is truly born-again is that he can truly forgive others from the heart and love one's enemies. That is what it is.
